Welcome!

Welcome to the Sustainable Communities Project blog!

This blog is part of a partnership between Convinus Egyetem (University) in Budapest, Hungary and Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. Faculty members Reka Matolay (Corvinus) and Wynne Wright (MSU) have created this blog to inspire their respective students to engage each other in dialogue around issues pertaining to sustainable communities and decision making.

Reka's class is titled, "name of class here". This is a third (?) year class where students are studying (name the majors they are enrolled in).

Wynne's class is titled, "Problem Solving in Community, Agriculture, & Environmental Systems" (ACR 202). This is a second year required course. Most students in this class are majoring in areas of agriscience education, tourism studies, or natural resources.

Our goal in developing this partnership is to create the context whereby students - enrolled in traditional courses within their respective universities - can share information, invite discussion, and work on team projects with students in classes at a different institution. Our objective is to foster cross cultural understanding, team work, student interactivity, and more fully communicate the complexity of sustiainability by exploring the different dimensions it takes in different contexts. This electronic partnership is not intended to function as the full term/semester course but will be active for one module of the respective courses.

To the right margin of this blog you will find various articles that explain requirements of the course (syllabus) along with shared readings we will use in the class, and socio-cultural information about Hungary and the US.
